Household Waste Collection Event

A household waste collection day will be held at Turfway Park at 7500 Turfway Road in Florence, KY on November 5 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m Northern Kentucky residents can dispose of electronics, computers, TVs, oil, florescent light bulbs, antifreeze, car batteries, toner, ink cartridges and more. NOTE:
All residents who plan to drop off items must complete and print a registration form prior to attending the event. The completed form must be turned in the day of the event. Completing this form in advance will greatly help with the flow of traffic and will reduce waiting time. Click here for the registration form.

BOONE COUNTY EVENTS

Boone County Fall Clean-Up

Properly dispose of household items at the Boone County Fall Clean-Up being held October 17 –October 23 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will be two sites: one at the Boone County Public Works Department on Maplewood Dr. and the other at the Union Pool on Old Union Rd. Liquid waste, hazardous waste, paint, dirt and concrete will NOT be accepted. No items from a business will be accepted. Call Boone County Solid Waste at 859-334-3151 for more information.


City of Florence Fall Clean-Up

The City of Florence Fall Clean-Up will be held October 17 – October 23. Florence residents and business owners can bring items from their own fall cleaning to the Florence Public Services Maintenance Facility located at 7850 Tanners Lane (across from Goodwill) for disposal. The hours of operation for the event will be from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Proof of Florence residency will be required during the Fall Clean-Up Program. Any large item such as refrigerators, air conditioning units, household furniture, garbage, brush, or just general junk is acceptable. The Public Services Department will also accept refrigerators, air conditioning units or other items containing Freon (CFC's) throughout the year during regular business hours. City of Walton Fall Clean-Up

Properly dispose of household items at the City of Walton’s Fall Clean-Up. The fall clean-up week is October 17 – October 23. Dumpsters will be located at 11 High School Court in Walton, KY. Call 859-485-4383 for more information about event times and items being collected.


Coloring Calendar Contest

We need the help of our Boone County youth to encourage people to stop littering. We need students from Kindergarten to 5th grade to create artwork or a slogan that will educate people about the effects of littering. The contest starts on September 12th and ends October 28th. The winners will be able to attend a Fiscal Court meeting and receive cool prizes. For more information call 859-334-3629 or email Kelly at kchapman@boonecountyky.org.


NEW Boone County Drop Off Recycling Program

Starting this fall Boone County Public Works will be running the county drop-off recycling program. There will be a couple differences when the new program goes into effect. These changes include residents being responsible for sorting their recyclables and glass will not be accepted. Look for the new drop-off sites at schools and throughout the county. Trashy Talk at Schools

As classes start up this fall, keep in mind the Boone County Solid Waste Department is more than willing to speak to the students in your area about anything from recycling soda cans, reusing soda bottles to cleaning up litter. Whatever you’re wondering, we can discuss it and we love audiences of all kinds from public and private school patrons to adult clubs, scouting troops, or conference groups. CAMPBELL COUNTY EVENTS

Campbell County Fall Clean-Up

The Campbell County Fall Clean-Up will be held November 4 – 6. Items will be collected at Pendery Park, Campbell Police Station at 8774 Constable Drive in Alexandria and Campbell Transportation Center at 1175 Race track Road in Alexandria. The hours of operation for the event will be from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. All locations will accept general (bulky) trash and debris. However, only the Transportation Center will accept scrap metal, car batteries, appliances, tires (4-6) and propane tanks. For large items, please call in advance before the event so arrangements can be made to accommodate you – call 859-547-1802. If needed, please contact 859-663-8322 on the days of the event. In addition, loads of tires over the limit must call in advance. Please have your Driver’s License ready. Liquids will not be accepted at any site (this includes paint).

KENTON COUNTY EVENTS

Kenton County Fall Clean-Up

Properly dispose of any household item, used motor oil and four tires per vehicle at the Kenton County Fall Clean-Up event being held September 1st and October 2 – 3 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. All items, except household chemicals, will be collected at Kenton County Public Works on Independence Station Road and DRT Construction on Walton Nicholson Pike. Monthly clean-up events are held the first Saturday of every month at the Public Works location. Call Roger Wells at 859-392-1920 for more information. NOTE: There will be a $1.00 disposal charge for each tire.
