NKSWMA

Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area

The Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area (NKSWMA) is a regional partnership of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties dedicated to supporting responsible waste management across Northern Kentucky. The NKSWMA Governing Body is made up of the Judge/Executive and Solid Waste Coordinator from each county. Together, the counties work cooperatively to manage solid waste and provide resources that benefit residents throughout the region.

Each county hosts a variety of environmental events and programs designed to serve and support our communities. To learn more about these opportunities, we encourage you to contact your local Solid Waste Coordinator. Our largest and most popular annual event is the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event, which helps residents safely and properly dispose of materials that should not go into the landfill.
